A Molejo team was the victim of a robbery on Friday night (27), in Rio de Janeiro, shortly after Anderson Leonardo, the band’s lead singer, died due to cancer in the inguinal region disclosed. The case was reported by the team itself on the group’s official Instagram profile.
“The press office of the Molejo group is here to inform you that, unfortunately, we were victims of a robbery today, resulting in the interruption of our communications via telephone and WhatsApp”, he began.
“Right now, we are in the process of recovering and taking over our operations. We ask for the understanding of the press and other interested parties as we deal with this situation”, the note continues.
The group also issued a warning. “We are working hard to reestablish communications and return to our activities as quickly as possible. Any developments or additional information will be shared as soon as it becomes available,” he said.
“We thank everyone for their understanding and collaboration, remembering that any updates will be posted on Molejo’s social networks”, he concludes.
Wake open to the public
O Anderson Leonardo’s wake will be open to the public and will take place on Sunday (28), at the Jardim da Saudade Cemetery, in Sulacap, in Rio de Janeiro. The farewell takes place from 11am to 3:30pm, in chapel 9.

In October 2022, Anderson Leonardo reported that he was diagnosed with cancer in the inguinal region and, in January 2023, he said he was cured. In May of that year, the artist was diagnosed again with cancer in this area and, from then on, started a new treatment. The inguinal region is in the groin, where the end of the belly meets the beginning of the thigh.
On February 27, the singer was admitted to a private hospital in Rio de Janeiro, where he underwent immunotherapy and received medication for pain. On March 13th, the Molejo singer went through a procedure for hypogastric nerve plexus block for pain.
On the 19th of the same month, the artist was discharged after 21 days in hospital. After leaving the place, he recorded in the studio and appeared happily in videos on social media. However, on March 24, five days after being discharged, he was taken to the hospital again. According to the artist’s advisor, Anderson needed “prayers”.
Anderson completed more than a month of hospitalization last Wednesday (24). Within this period, he was taken to the ICU twice, being the most recent on Sunday (21). Afterwards, the singer’s team announced that he needed blood donation. This morning, his health status progressed to very serious and he died.
