In addition to being ignored by the documentary “Senna by Ayrton” (2024), from Globoplay, Adriane Galisteu will also play a role in the lives of Ayrton Senna minimized by the series “Senna“, which will premiere later this year on Netflix. The presenter and the pilot started dating in 1993 and were together until the last day of Ayrton’s life, May 1, 1994.

+ Xuxa or Galisteu: who was Ayrton Senna’s great love?

+ ‘I told you not to run’, says Adriane Galisteu about her last conversation with Ayrton Senna

The information comes from “Notícias da TV“, which explains that the decision was taken after a major impasse between the series’ producer and the pilot’s family — more specifically Viviane SennaAyrton’s sister and president of the Ayrton Senna institute.

According to the portal, the administrator prohibited Netflix from even mentioning the presenter of “A Fazenda”, which would have caused executives at the streaming giant to almost give up producing the series. This is because Galisteu was by Senna’s side in the last 18 months of her life, and erasing her from the series would be an attempt to erase her from the pilot’s story.

To avoid reprisals from the family and viewers, Netflix agreed to include Adriane in the production in a reduced form. The actress Julia Foti, who will play the former model in the production, will have less screen time than Senna’s other ex-girlfriends. She will not even be portrayed as the pilot’s “widow”.

Rivalry with Xuxa and Senna’s family

Despite being the pilot’s last girlfriend, Adriane Galisteu did not have the sympathy of his family. This was proven in 2023, during the participation of Viviane Senna, Ayrton’s sister, in the miniseries “Xuxa, O Documentário”.

In her statement, Viviane made a point of saying that neither Xuxa and not even Senna — who dated between 1988 and 1990 — “needed each other to be recognized and leverage themselves”, which was seen as a hint at Galisteu — who, at the time, was 19 years old and was starting his modeling career.

Also in the documentary miniseries, Xuxa spoke about her ex: “When he started dating Adriane Galisteu, he actually didn’t speak to me for a year. We didn’t see each other until he died.” Despite this, she revealed that, supposedly, she had an “appointment” with the pilot the day before he died.

And it was countered by Adriane: “I think that a woman who has been concerned with examples all her life has not set a good example. It’s the same thing as her starting to date and me going after her boyfriend. I don’t think it’s fair, with so many men out there. She was the one who broke up with him, not him. When I started dating, they had already been separated for over two years. I didn’t get in the middle of anything. I thought it was ugly. A woman who cares so much about her image suddenly comes out to say things like that. I wasn’t moved at all and I found it extremely inelegant.”

It is worth remembering that, at Senna’s wake, Xuxa was warmly received by the driver’s relatives, while Galisteu, who was his girlfriend, did not receive support from the family.
