“I had one of those slap-in-the-face moments that makes you see clearly that you’ve reached bottom. I was staying at a very fancy hotel in Manhattan for my birthday,” he said. “Someone gave me some cocaine. I was sitting on the floor in the closet, just putting it up my nose. Alone. I didn’t hear the maid knock or let her come into the room to clean.
“She opened the closet door. I screamed. She screamed and backed away and looked like she was going to run. I had to catch her quickly and try to calm down,” he continued. “She looked at my face as I spoke. As soon as she understood that this was my room, she calmed down and left.”
I looked in the mirror by the door and saw cocaine all over my face.

Then, the artist also spoke about her experience dealing with addiction and how her mother was a source of motivation and encouragement to end this problem: “I didn’t want my daughter to think that her mother was an addict. I didn’t I wanted my mother to think her daughter was an addict.
