David Corenswet received the not-so-easy task of playing Clark Kent, Superman in the new film “Superman”, at the cinema. In order for him to achieve the character’s body, with lots of muscles, he needed to greatly intensify his training routine. But after director James Gunn published the first photo of the artist portrayed as the iconic character, some wondered if he was wearing any padding.

“David Corenswet worked hard, I can’t wait to share more of the training we did to prepare to play this iconic character,” wrote the actor’s training staff, Paolo Mascitti.
The personal even showed a photo of Corenswet in the gym, showing off her muscles, to prove that there was no filler there. Actress Maria Gabriela De Faria, who was cast as the villain Angela Spica, the Engineer, in the film, commented on her colleague’s transformation on social media:
“David Corenswet’s all-natural transformation into Superman. Lots of hard work.”
“Superman”, by director James Gunn, is scheduled to premiere on July 11, 2025 in the United States. It will be the first time that Corenswet will play the character that gives the film its title. Before him, Henry Cavill had played the role since 2013 at DC Studios. The change happened because the director wanted to portray the beginning of the hero’s life.
Before “Superman”, Corenswet was in the cast of productions such as “Pearl” (2022), “The city is ours” (2022) and “Hollywood”.
