Doja Cat surprised once again with her look for the Metropolitan Museum of Art gala, in New York, on Monday night (6). After being photographed leaving only a towel at The Mark Hotel, where celebrities get dressed before the ball, the rapper appeared in a white dress with a wet effect on the red carpet of the Met Gala 2024.

With her dress soaked and slightly transparent, Doja posed for the photographers present and concentrated the flashes. The singer’s makeup, with black eyeshadow running down her face, also caught attention.

It is worth remembering that the singer is among the 450 guests of the night — all of whom underwent individual approval from Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue America and who has directed the Met Gala since 1995. Among the confirmed names are also Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth, who this year serve as co-hosts.

The 2024 Met Gala celebrates the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” and the official dress code is “The Garden of Time.” The exhibition features approximately 250 rare items taken from the Costume Institute’s permanent collection. Spanning more than 400 years of fashion history, pieces include designs from Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy and more. Some garments that are too fragile to be worn again – such as an 1877 Charles Frederick Worth ball gown – are also displayed through video animation, light projection, AI, CGI and other forms of sensory stimulation.

Andrew Bolton, curator in charge of the Costume Institute, added that the exhibition is shaped around three main “zones” – Land, Sea and Sky – that pay homage to the natural world. “It’s an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion,” he said.
