After his 50th birthday, Belo opened his heart and spoke about the end of his marriage to Gracyanne Barbosa. The couple confirmed their breakup last month after spending 16 years together.

In “The Noite”, on SBT, the pagodeiro stated that he was always strong, but that he still hasn’t managed to overcome the end of the relationship. The news came out one day before the singer began his Soweto 30th anniversary tour.

“A beautiful moment that I was living and, at the same time, sad. It’s been 16 years. We’re going to take it. I’m still not well, but we have to overcome it. I’ve always been very strong… I’ve been through adversity in my life, very bad moments and God lifted me up”, said Belo.

The artist also spoke about having cried when singing “Reinventar” in the first show of the tour. “There, we were reliving wonderful moments from the 1990s with Soweto. I can’t normalize that, filling a stadium, with 90 thousand people watching and reliving that moment. It wasn’t a very good week for me either, I’m going through a separation. I brought it all together”, he explained.
