Sam Smith congratulates Anitta and praises “Funk Generation”; look

“Funk Generation”, Anitta’s trilingual funk album, has been the talk of the town since Friday (26), when it was released.

This Saturday (27), Sam Smith, who was in Brazil for a celebratory opera-pop show at this year’s Lollapalooza after not setting foot here for five years, congratulated his musical partner.

“Congratulations on your wonderful album, Anitta!”, wrote a singer. Look:

Elu is with her on the project on the track “Ahi”. The song was even a source of controversy: the Brazilian even said in a comment on Instagram that the track had left the album, after the British singer canceled her participation.

“This interview was given last month. He (sic) canceled the launch. We had to reschedule the album release plan and as soon as we have the date you will know. It won’t take long, everything else is already ready. I love you”, wrote the Brazilian.

Anitta’s fans even invaded the comments on the “Gloria” voice account, demanding explanations and asking for retaliation. However, the track made it onto the album. What happened? Nobody officially knows.

What is even speculated is that a clip was recorded by both of them dressed as Carnival dancers, in a recreated samba school shed in New York. Anitta even wore a Sabrina Sato outfit during the recording.

Any’s album received more than 12.7 million plays in the first 24 hours after its debut. With the number, the project established itself as the third biggest national debut in the history of Spotify Brasil, behind Taylor Swift and Luísa Sonza.
