This Monday (1st), the web revived the controversy involving Marina Ruy Barbosa and Walcyr Carrasco. In 2013, the actress did not shave her hair for the soap opera “Amor à Vida“, and rumors said that the situation had led to friction between the artist and the author. However, Marina spoke again on the matter and put an end to the story.

The redhead played young Nicole in the 9pm serial – a rich and powerful heiress who returned to Brazil after losing her parents and grandparents. The drama went further when the character discovered aggressive cancer at an advanced stage, with the painful news that she only had six months to live. As the treatment progressed, her hair would begin to fall out and she would have to shave her head the day before her wedding.

However, the character didn’t have the courage to cut the threads for fear that her fiancé, Thales (Ricardo Tozzi), would no longer love her. Finally, she couldn’t resist and passed away at the altar, in her husband’s arms.

Nicole’s unexpected death made viewers think that Marina was “punished” by Walcyr. She, however, denied the disagreements in a comment on social media. On an Instagram page, a user reacted to the revelation that Bella Campos would only shave her hair for a soap opera for R$5 million. “If they wipe Bella, they have to wipe Marina, who to this day still talks about her not changing her look”wrote the profile.

Marina, in turn, decided to respond to the internet user. “It wasn’t quite like that. At the time I was called, I was told that the character would be one of the protagonists and that we would do a big social action about Nicole’s cancer (my character!). As a soap opera is an open work, everything can change. And changed”she began in the text.

The actress added: “The author ended up giving priority to other stories, we wouldn’t do the social action and soon after there would be a passage of time and I would appear with a wig. In light of the changes, I spoke with Globo’s management at the time and, together, we saw that it made no sense to scrape in the face of the reality that was being presented. I believe that each case is different, it all depends on the text, the character and the story of each one”. Look:

This is not the first time that the star has spoken about what happened. In an interview with the “Ela” section of the newspaper “O Globo” last year, she revealed that she did not have the opportunity to talk to Walcyr at the time. The reckoning only came during the pandemic. “There wasn’t much of that connection. The author was like a god. A year and a half ago, I decided to clarify this situation. I got Walcyr’s phone number and called. He said we didn’t speak, but that I had a lot of respect for him and was grateful for every opportunity.”he detailed.

According to Marina, they even expressed their desire to work together again. “Walcyr said that there was a real lack of communication and that he would love to work with me again. And I also made it clear that it was reciprocal. I suffered a lot, but now I realize that it didn’t have to be like that.”he completed.
