Five member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (UEEA) opened their markets to the export of live pigs from Brazil. From now on, animals can be sent to Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
In a statement, the Ministry of Agriculture stated that this is the second major commercial opening for Brazilian agricultural products for the bloc in less than 10 months. In September 2023, exports of live cattle to UEEA members were authorized.
Pasta reported that, in 2023, Brazil exported just over US$1.2 billion in agribusiness products to the UEEA, with emphasis on soybeans, beef, green coffee and raw sugar.
This is the 39th market opening, in 24 countries, this year.
