247 – Direct investments in Brazil reached US$9.591 billion, above the projected US$6.85 billion and compared to US$7.3 billion in March 2023, the Central Bank reported this Thursday (2).

This is the best performance for the month since 2012, when the country recorded a net inflow of US$14.9 billion, according to the Central Bank’s historical series, which began in 1995.

The monetary authority reported that the March result was influenced by net inflows of US$4.1 billion in equity shares and US$5.5 billion in intercompany operations.

Direct Investment in the Country (IDP) accumulated in the last twelve months reached US$66.5 billion, equivalent to 2.98% of GDP, in March 2024. This represents an increase in relation to US$64.3 billion ( 2.90% of GDP) recorded in the previous month, and a decrease compared to the US$ 75.3 billion (3.76% of GDP) in March 2023.
