Minister reverses Prates’ maneuver at Petrobras to take advice

The minister complained to Planalto and managed to put an end to the maneuver. The election will define the councilors for the next two years. The government will change only one of its representatives. Sergio Machado Rezende leaves and Dubeux enters, in an agreement made to include Prates.

Minority shareholders are also split. On one side is the group of Juca Abdalla (José Jão Abdalla Filho) and on the other Francisco Petros.

In relation to the text published this Thursday, 25/4, in the column of journalist Andreza Matais, Petrobras informs that there was no initiative by the President of Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates, to intervene in the composition of the company’s Board of Directors, which will be elected at today’s shareholders’ meeting.

President Jean Paul Prates and the entire Petrobras Executive Board have total care and respect for the company’s Corporate Governance mechanisms and instances and understand that the nomination and election of directors are the exclusive responsibility of Petrobras’ shareholders.
