After launching the Tank 4×4 jeep line at the end of this year, with the Tank 400 SUV, GWM will focus its attention on a new sub-brand in Brazil: Wey, which will join Haval (urban SUVs), Ora (electric) and to Tank itself in the Chinese brand’s national portfolio. It is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2025.

Autoesporte learned from company executives in China that Wey’s first product should be a six-seater SUV called Lanshan, which in Mandarin means “blue mountain”. Therefore, the model is also called Blue Mountain. In the Brazilian market, however, it must receive the name Wey 07.

Apparently, the look will be different from the Lanshan currently sold in China, with a more conventional front design. The cabin has six independent seats distributed across three rows, in a 2+2+2 configuration.

The dimensions are generous: 5.16 meters long, 1.98 m wide, 1.81 m high and a long wheelbase of 3.05 m. As a comparison, it is 48 cm longer, 9 cm wider, 8 cm taller and 31 cm longer than a Haval H6.

The engine is the same DHT present in our H6, consisting of a 1.5 turbo 16V gasoline engine and a set of three electric motors (one generator and two traction), with all-wheel drive. There are 416 hp of power and 71.4 kgfm of torque, with a 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

A plug-in hybrid (PHEV), which charges from the socket, the Wey 07 features a set of lithium-ion batteries with 45 kWh capacity, reaching 180 km of autonomy in electric-only mode and 1,000 km of combined range. The approved consumption in China is 14.9 km/l.

There are a total of seven driving modes, including asphalt, mud and sand. Despite this, the Wey 07 has a more urban and familiar feel, featuring a giant multimedia screen, including on the middle seat with gesture control, and a central refrigerated trunk to keep the water cold on board.

The price should be above R$300,000. Another SUV, the Wey 05 (Coffe 01 in China), is being studied with five seats and a slightly smaller size.
