Musk’s publication was in response to a satirical profile. Soon afterwards, he asked how much the station would cost. He then responded to his own comment with a laughing emoji, suggesting the response was just a joke.
The billionaire’s interaction caught the attention of his community of Brazilian fans, who support the idea of him taking charge of the broadcaster.
History of TV Globo
Founded in 1965, the TV Globo is one of the largest television stations in Brazil and the world. Currently, the company is run by members of the Marinho family, with João Roberto Marinho being the president of Grupo Globo since 2021.
The broadcaster occupies one of the most important positions in Brazilian communication, mainly on the open television network. The company is part of Grupo Globo, the largest media conglomerate in Latin America.
Initially, the broadcaster is not for sale, and Elon Musk’s comment may have just been to stir up the internet and joke with his Brazilian fans.
