Ukraine. Situation at the front deteriorates with new Russian advances

-

ANDThis conclusion appears in one of the latest ‘newsletters’ from the Ukrainian Telegram channel DeepState, considered one of the most influential and informed conflict monitoring and analysis groups.

“Unfortunately, the situation is difficult and tends to worsen due to great pressure from the enemy”, reads an analysis published by DeepState.

According to DeepState, Russian forces “are trying to break Ukrainian positions” along the entire line that runs from the city of Rozdolivka, in the eastern region of Donetsk and about 20 kilometers north of Bakhmut, to Bilogorivka, in the neighboring region. from Lugansk.

Further south and also in the Donetsk region, the Institute for the Study of War in Washington recorded Russian advances towards the west and northwest of the city of Avdivka.

According to today’s report from the Ukrainian General Staff, Russian troops lost 1,300 soldiers, 11 tanks, 35 armored vehicles and 23 artillery systems across the entire front.

Ukraine hopes that the new military aid, which it has already started receiving from the United States, will allow it to reduce its inferiority in artillery ammunition and stabilize the front, which at the moment continues to move west in favor of Russia.

Kiev is also looking to increase the number of soldiers in its ranks with a new mobilization law that will come into force on May 18.

Ukrainian deputies approved a bill allowing certain categories of prisoners to fight at the front in exchange for amnesty, as Kiev seeks to mobilize more soldiers against the Russian invasion.

The Russian military offensive on Ukrainian territory, launched on February 24, 2022, plunged Europe into what is considered the most serious security crisis since the Second World War (1939-1945).
