A Boeing 737-300 with 85 occupants skidded off the runway after trying to abort takeoff at Dakar international airport, in Senegal, this Thursday morning (9).

The incident left a pilot and 10 of the 79 passengers on board injured and caused the closure of the airport in the Senegalese capital, which remained inoperative until the last update of this report.

According to the newspaper “Le Monde”, four of the injured are in serious condition.

According to the administration of Blaise Diagne airport, on the outskirts of Dakar, the aircraft, chartered by Air Senegal from the company Transair, skidded during takeoff.

The flight was destined for the city of Bamako, in Mali.
