The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) announced this Tuesday (7) the arrest of two agents accused of involvement in a plan coordinated by Russia to assassinate the president, Volodimir Zelensky, and other officials.
The SBU “dismantled a network of agents” from the Russian FSB (Federal Security Service) who were planning the “assassination of the Ukrainian president”, the agency said in a statement that cited the arrest of “two colonels” responsible for the security of employees of high-ranking Ukrainians.
This Tuesday (7/5), Vladimir Putin took the oath for his fifth term as president of Russiauntil 2030, with an appeal to his compatriots to win “together” the conflict in Ukraine, considered existential.
In a lavish ceremony held in the Kremlin, the 71-year-old president took the oath and gave a brief speech to the Russian political elite and soldiers fighting in Ukraine. “It is a great honor, a responsibility and a sacred duty,” said Putin, who thanked the “heroes” who have been fighting on the front lines in Ukraine since February 2022. Putin threatens to bomb and even use nuclear equipment against countries that help Ukrainians, such as England, France and the United States.
