When Apple presented the new iPad Pro models with an unprecedented M4 chip and OLED screen, we already expected a price increase in Brazil thanks to the updated values in the United States. And a survey carried out by the data analysis firm Nukeni compares Brazil to 33 other countries and reveals that, unsurprisingly, our country has the most expensive iPad Pro in the world.

The survey considers the base price of the iPad Pro sold in the United States, which is US$999 for the 11-inch model with 256 GB and US$1,299 for the 13-inch model with 256 GB.

When converted directly to the Brazilian real without adding taxes (or the “Apple price” factor), these values become R$5,075 and R$6,600 for the base version of both tablets.

However, Apple charges R$12,299 for the 11-inch iPad Pro and R$15,899 for the 13-inch, more than double the price in direct conversion in both cases.

For comparison purposes, Turkey is in the penultimate position on the list (above only Brazil) and the price of the 11-inch iPad Pro in the country is R$7,268, almost 70% lower than in Brazil.

It is also interesting to note the pricing strategy of other manufacturers. Samsung, for example, sells the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus in the United States for US$999 (~R$5,169 in direct conversion) in the 512 GB version. In Brazil, the same model can be purchased through the brand’s official website for R$5,199 by card or R$4,679 in cash, meaning we have an even lower price in our country compared to the USA.

iPad Pro price in Brazil exceeds R$ 30 thousand

Simulating the purchase of an iPad Pro in a more advanced configuration with a 13-inch screen, nano-texture glass, support for the 5G network in a Wi-Fi + Cellular model and a maximum storage of 2 TB, the tablet costs R$31,499.

Considering essential accessories for the complete equipment experience such as the Apple Pencil Pro (R$ 1,499) and the new Magic Keyboard (R$ 3,799), the price of the iPad Pro with M4 chip can reach an incredible R$ 36,797. For comparison purposes, a 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip starts at R$22,999 in our country.

The high pricing of Apple’s tablets also affects other products such as iPhones, Macs and accessories as a way of keeping the company at a “luxury level” in relation to its competitors. Despite this often placing the brand as an object of desire, it also ends up alienating many potential consumers who could generate even more revenue in times of market downturn, not only in Brazil but globally.
