Apple recently announced the 2024 editions of the band and watch face Pride (Pride) for the Apple Watchas well as new wallpapers for iPhones It is iPads that seek to celebrate community resistance LGBTQ+.
Starting with the watch, this year we have a braided solo loop bracelet that “evokes the beauty of the LGBTQ+ community with a vibrant and flourishing design inspired by multiple pride flags”, as well as featuring a strap with the words “PRIDE 2024” (“PRIDE 2024”, in direct translation) engraved by laser.
Also according to Maçã, the black and brown colors seen on the bracelet represent the black, Hispanic and Latino communities, in addition to people who have been impacted by HIV/AIDS. The colors pink, light blue and white, in turn, allude to transgender and non-binary people.
The new display “Pride Radiance” (“Radiant Pride”, in free translation) of watchOS and the new iOS/iPadOS wallpapers are dynamic, customizable and bring “strong and symbolic” colors to these devices. Rays of light that intertwine form the characters on the screen, in addition to having a dark background that generates a very cool contrast.
Apple said the idea behind the watch face and wallpapers is to “represent the eternal impact of LGBTQ+ activism and its role in lighting the path to greater equality for future generations.”
The Pride braided solo loop bracelet will be released on the day May 22nd for US$100 and will be compatible with the Apple Watch Series 3 or newer watches, in the 41mm and 45mm sizes (remembering that the 45mm accessory is also compatible with the Ultra Watches, which are 49mm). The dial and wallpapers, in turn, will be released with the final versions of watchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5.
