iPhone 16: new design, larger screens and possible changes to MagSafe are shown in 3D models

-

Update (05/03/2024) – FM

Rumors indicate that the iPhone 16 will be launched with the biggest visual change since the iPhone 13, bringing rear cameras aligned vertically — adopting a design similar to that of the iPhone 12. This Friday (03), a new leak revealed molds that reinforce the possible design of Apple’s next cell phones.

The new printed models are similar to the molds leaked earlier this week, but feature a cutout that shows the battery’s wireless charging ring — a technology called MagSafe by Apple. You can see that the wireless charging area of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro is slightly thinner than that of the iPhone 15 Pro. See:

Despite the change in design, it is likely that the brand’s current wireless chargers will remain compatible with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. The same cannot be said about protective cases, since all cell phones in the line must bring changes in design. camera arrangement and a new “capture button” for taking photos.

Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to be equipped with larger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens, respectively. As a result, the models will be a little taller than the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, which will have the same screen dimensions as their predecessors, that is, 6.1 and 6.7 inches.

It is said that the change in the camera arrangement of the “cheaper” models in the line will allow the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus to acquire the ability to record spatial videos that can be played back on the Apple Vision Pro. The devices must also feature the chip Apple’s A18, which is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s 3-nanometer lithography.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro in September 2024.

iPhone 16: 3D models confirm design details and exaggerated size of the Pro Max

The iPhone 16 line continues to have details leaked. Therefore, looking to show everything we know about the devices’ design, leaker Sonny Dickson published images of 3D models of the devices.

The devices don’t work, but the intention is to highlight the main changes that Apple can make to the new hardware. An example of this is that the new iPhone 16 and 16 Plus must have a new camera module with vertically organized sensors.

In other words, the “era” of the diagonal camera is over, with the Pro models bringing few aesthetic changes, maintaining the essence of the current iPhone 15 line.

The main change in the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models is in the screen size, as the first will be 6.3 inches and the second will adopt a 6.9-inch OLED panel.

This should give the most expensive variant the title of “largest iPhone ever”. Unfortunately, the replicas do not show the new capture button, but market analysts say that it should arrive at least for the Pro variants and should be on the same side as the power button.

Finally, it is necessary to remember that Apple does not confirm the speculated changes. Therefore, we can only consider this matter as just another market rumor.

At the moment, the Cupertino company has been seeking commercial agreements with Google and OpenAI to integrate some AI features into iOS 18 devices.
