Huawei Pura 70, 70 Pro and 70 Ultra are launched globally with Kirin chip and AI; see prices

After some certifications, the Huawei surprised the public by launching globally the new Huawei Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Ultra. The devices are now available for order in Malaysia and also in Europe, marking a new phase in the company’s trajectory after the 2019 sanctions.

According to Huawei, the Pura 70 Pro Plus variant will be restricted to the Chinese market, but the new global Pura 70 features a Kirin chipset and features based on Artificial Intelligence.

Furthermore, another considerable change is in the software, which is no longer the Chinese HarmonyOS to adopt the EMUI interface based on Google’s Android.

Still, this doesn’t stop devices from having a series of hardware and cloud-based Artificial Intelligence features for capturing and editing photos. However, satellite link functionality is not present on global models.

In terms of design, the new members of the Huawei Pura line share the triangular camera module, with the Ultra variant having a 1-inch retractable 50 MP main sensor.

This model also features a 50 MP telephoto sensor (3.5X zoom and OIS) and a 40 MP ultrawide lens with autofocus. The Pura 70 Pro has a 50 MP main camera (OIS), a 48 MP telephoto camera (3.5X zoom and OIS) and a 12.5 MP ultrawide camera.

On the other hand, the Huawei Pura 70 maintains the 50 MP main lens, but features a 13 MP ultrawide sensor and 12 MP periscope (5x zoom, OIS).

Moving on to the Pura 70 chipset, it is the Kirin 9000S1, with the others delivering the new Kirin 9010.

The smartphones’ screen is a 6.8-inch (Pura 70 Pro and Ultra) or 6.6-inch OLED LTPO, and this panel has a resolution of 1.5K and a rate of up to 120 Hz.

The new members of the Pura 70 line also have water and dust resistance with IP68 certification. Completing the set is the Pura 70 Ultra’s 5,200 mAh battery with 100W wired, 80W wireless and 20W reverse charging.

The Pura 70 Pro has a 5,050 mAh battery and offers the same charging scheme as the Ultra, while the Pura 70 has a 4,900 mAh battery and supports 66W wired, 50W wireless and 7.5W reverse charging.

Announced in black, white and green, the new Huawei Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Ultra can now be ordered in Europe and sales should start on May 22nd.
