Gemini app in more languages and countries
Today, we’re launching the Gemini app around the world, in more languages and countries, so you can get help from Gemini anywhere. With Gemini on your phone, you can type, speak, or add a picture to ask for all kinds of help. For example, you can take a photo of your flat tire and ask for instructions on how to change it, or you can ask for help writing a thank you note. This is an important first step in building a true AI assistant that is conversational, multimodal, and useful.
On Android, if you download the Gemini app from Google Play or turn on Google Assistant, you can access AI from within the app or anywhere else Google Assistant is normally activated: by pressing the power button, swiping to the corner — on some select phones — or by saying “Hey Google.” This will open a new tab for easy access to Gemini, as well as giving you context directly on the screen. Many Google Assistant voice features will be available through the Gemini app – including options to set timers, make calls, and control your smart home devices. Plus, we’re working to offer more features in the future.
