Considered a “wild card” feature, the monitoring blood sugar levels may finally reach the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7. The information was revealed by several Korean sources.

According to these people who have access to Samsung’s plans, the company has internally tested a non-invasive method of informing the user of their glucose level.

To do this, the company may be using an updated optical sensor capable of identifying this index using only beams of light, but it is not yet possible to know the level of precision.

Therefore, the tendency is for Samsung not to register the Galaxy Watch 7 as a medical device, since the data provided to users may be inaccurate.

Currently, diabetes monitoring is done using medical grade equipment that requires a drop of blood on a test strip. This ends up making the process somewhat exhausting, as there are cases where the patient needs to prick their finger several times a day.

Integrating a sensor that allows this monitoring without needing to collect blood is the main desire of many diabetics and several companies. Therefore, if Samsung manages to deliver a minimally accurate option, the tendency is for sales of the Galaxy Watch 7 to grow substantially.

This is because, despite not having the precision of a medical device, the watch can help patients have continuous blood glucose monitoring.

For now, Samsung does not comment on the matter. Therefore, we emphasize that everything should be considered as just another market rumor.
