Paulo Soares gives an emotional report on Antero Greco’s health: “He won’t wake up anymore”

The duo formed by Paulo Soares and Antero Greco impressed many football fans on the specialized channel ESPN. The two presented SportsCenter together and starred in several moments frequently mentioned and remembered by fans.

Last Friday (10), Paulo Soares used Juca Kfouri’s column, on UOL, to reveal details about his partner’s health status, stating that Antero Greco, aged 68, is “in his final days”.

In the text, Soares, “Amigão”, talks about the diagnosis of brain cancer received by his friend in 2022 and gives details of the treatment, which included two surgeries. At this point, however, as the disease progresses, there are no more interventions to be made. According to the journalist, Greco “sleeps a deep, peaceful sleep. He doesn’t wake up and doesn’t speak anymore. He feeds through a tube”, he wrote.

Still in the emotional report, Paulo Soares states that Greco is admitted to a hospital in the traditional Bela Vista neighborhood, in São Paulo, surrounded by family.

“Today I went with Alex Tseng, João Simões and Roberto Salim to say goodbye to him. Very sad and difficult. We imagined returning to the SportsCenter stand. Our dream is over. Let’s send light and peace so that it will be a peaceful passage. A sweet, dear friend , fun and very intelligent. Antero, my friend, you big head, wake up!!!”, concluded Soares.
