Danilo Fagundes will not go to the semi-finals of the Sofia stage

After Isabela Abreu, Danilo Fagundes took action in the Sofia, Bulgaria, stage of the modern pentathlon World Cup. This Thursday (9), the Brazilian competed in the qualifying phase of the men’s category. Like Isabela, Danilo failed to advance to the semifinals and ended his participation in the tournament.

Danilo Fagundes finished 20th in group C of the qualifiers, totaling 1085 points. His best performance was in the laser run (race combined with shooting), where he came in 9th place with 11min16s60 and got 627 points. In swimming, he came in 21st place with 285 points, while he had 8 victories in fencing and finished 26th in the event with 173 points.

At the modern pentathlon World Cup in Sofia, the men’s qualifying phase brought together 85 athletes divided into three groups. Of this number, only 32 advanced to the semi-finals, which have two groups of 18 each.

Qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Isabela Abreu took action in a tournament on the modern pentathlon world circuit last Wednesday (8). The only Brazilian guaranteed in Paris ended up bowing out of the qualifiers after scoring 971 points and placing 20th in her group in the qualifiers.
