O Santos tries to convince the STJD (Superior Court of Sports Justice) to release the public for the clash against Brusque on the other Sunday (19), at 11 am, in Vila Belmiro, for Series B of the Brazilian Championship. The idea of the Peixe board of directors is to revert all income from the game towards donations and aid to the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Given the incidents in Vila on the day of relegation after the defeat to Fortaleza in December 2023, the STJD punished Alvinegro in the home games. There are three games behind closed doors (against Paysandu, Guarani and Brusque) and another three matches with open doors (against Botafogo-SP, Goiás and Chapecoense), but with the sector destined for organized fans closed and displaying a banner with the words: ‘Closed by decision of the STJD’.

The argument from Marcelo Teixeira’s management so that the entity can release the public, in advance, before the team from Santa Catarina is that all the money raised can be donated to the people of Rio Grande do Sul. In the duel against Guarani, the Santos raised more than R$110 thousand with symbolic ticket sales for donation.

On the club’s official website, Peixe also started selling tickets in a symbolic way for this game against Brusque. A note had also been published leaving Vila Belmiro and the team’s structures at the disposal of the teams from Rio Grande do Sul. Marcelo Teixeira, president of Alvinegro, clarified the situation on social media.

“The income to be reversed will be gross and full, assuming expenses. Ticket prices will be increased and there will be campaigns at the entrance to the stadium”, I post in Instagram stories.

Coach Fábio Carille’s team saw Vila Belmiro empty in the victories over Paysandu and Guarani. In the games’ Financial Bulletin, published by the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), they showed losses of R$59,447.04 and R$63,908.86.
