Bernardo scores and Santos beats Fortaleza in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship

O Santos beat Fortaleza 2-0, at Domingão, in Horizonte (CE), in the sixth round of the first phase of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, this Thursday (09). Peixe’s goals were scored by Bernardo, who recently returned to the pitch, and Diego Borges.

Coach Orlando Ribeiro’s team went to the field with: went to the field with Gustavo Jundi; Gustavo Henrique, Matheus Matias, Samuel and Souza (João Ananias); Kenay (Bernardo), Everton (Diego Borges) and Miguelito; Gabriel Bontempo, Felipe Laruindo (Mateus Xavier) and Enzo Monteiro (Luca Meirelles).

Meninos da Vila reach 13 points and occupy third place in the standings. They beat Internacional (F), Ceará (C), Fluminense (C) and Fortaleza (F), drew with Athletico-PR (F) and lost to Flamengo (C). There are four wins, one draw and one defeat with 15 goals scored and 9 conceded.

REGULATIONS

There are 20 participating clubs (the twenty best placed in the CBF National Club Ranking). In a single group, the teams face each other in a single round. After the 19 rounds, the eight best placed teams advance to the quarterfinals. The best campaign takes on the eighth best, the second faces the seventh and so on.

In the quarterfinals and semifinals, a single game. Now the grand final with a round trip. In the knockout stage, the best campaigns are homers in the single game and in the event of a final they decide at home.
