Left-back Diego Palacios reached his 100th day in the Corinthians medical department. The Ecuadorian is recovering from arthroscopy on his left knee carried out in February, shortly after his official debut as a black and white player.
Palacios’ injury was on January 27th. 100 days later, the defender remains in the final stages of recovery, but with no expected return to the field. During this period, he was left out of 21 Timão games.
He was again out of action on the CT Joaquim Grava pitch this Monday, in work that included the athletes who remained on the bench against Fortaleza and young people from the youth teams. The starting team for the last round of the Brasileirão was spared from intense training due to wear and tear.
Palacios experienced complications throughout his recovery. He did not progress as expected by the medical department, which had initially projected his return for the month of April. In a recent investigation by Meu Timão, it was discovered that the Ecuadorian still had a problem with his knee cartilage.
He had made a good impression against São Bernardo with deep plays along the baseline, but he felt pain in his knee in one of the attacks and had to leave the field with the support of Corinthians’ medical team.
Without Palacios, Hugo established himself as Corinthians’ starting left-back. The position included Caetano improvised for a few games, but currently has Matheus Bidu among the substitutes, reinstated to the squad after the arrival of António Oliveira.
