If Lando Norris with his first victory in Formula 1 was the positive protagonist of Miami GPon the other side may be Kevin Magnussenwho after receiving four sanctions translated into more than half a minute of punishments in the sprint race, was also sanctioned for the accident with Logan Sargeant that ended up causing the safety car that changed Sunday’s race.

On Saturday, he received three for “leaving the track several times and gaining an advantage”, and on Sunday another two for causing a collision, which together with the three he suffered in Saudi Arabia and two in China also for being guilty of an accident, raises the Magnussen’s super license counts to 10 penalty points.

On Saturday he was also cited before the stewards for alleged unsportsmanlike conduct and although he was spared in that regard, he will have to be very careful as if he accumulates two more penalty points on his license before March 9, 2025, i.e. in the next 18 races, he will receive the biggest punishment: a GP without a race.

Since this points system was introduced, no driver has accumulated 12 points. In September 2020, Hamilton also achieved 10 points on his license, but the Russian GP stewards ended up giving him points back and changing the punishment to a 25,000-euro fine for Mercedes.
