Kadu Pakinha from Maranhão secured the podium in the 1st stage of the Triple Crown Circuit. (Disclosure)
SAQUAREMA – Maranhão surfer Kadu Pakinha stood out in the 1st stage of the Triple Crown Circuit Sundek Classic Saquarema 2024, which took place between Saturday (4) and Sunday (5), at Praia de Itaúna, in Saquarema-RJ. With a high-level performance in a final decided in detail, Kadu secured third place in the Under-16 Men’s category of the event held by the Saquarema Surfing Association.
“It’s an immense joy to reach the Triple Crown podium here in Saquarema. It was a very difficult competition against other great athletes, but I achieved an excellent result. I was able to fight for the title until the last wave, which shows that I’m on the right path and motivates me even more to continue evolving. I will continue training hard to increase my collection of achievements”, highlights Kadu.
Before taking third place in the Saquarema Triple Crown Circuit, Kadu Pakinha represented Maranhão in the first stage of the Brazilian Base Surfing Circuit, one of the most important events of the season, which is organized by the Brazilian Surfing Confederation (CBSurf). At the opening of the national competition, which took place in April, in Porto de Galinhas, in the city of Ipojuca-PE, Kadu performed well in the Under-18 category, reaching the second phase, and also competed in the Under-16 category.
After competing in Saquarema, Kadu Pakinha returns to training in Rio de Janeiro, with total focus on the stages of the Circuito Carioca, one of the most competitive in the country, and the second stage of the Brazilian Base Surfing Circuit, which will be played between the days August 1st and 4th, in Matinhos-PR.
Previous season
Kadu Pakinha collected great results during 2023, representing Maranhão in national surfing events. The surfer from Maranhão was among the four best placed in the three stages of the ASN Puro Suco Nova Geração Circuit, in Niterói, and was a semi-finalist in the Under-16 and Under-18 categories of the 2nd stage of the Cyclone Surf Circuit, in Rio de Janeiro.
Furthermore, Kadu Pakinha reached the semifinals of the Canto Open, secured fourth place in the Under-16 Male category of the Grumari Masters, competed in the Saquarema Surf Pro Am and was in two stages of the Brazilian Base Surfing Circuit, where he gained experience for the 2024 events.
