Max Verstappen is in pole position for the Formula 1 Miami GP. The three-time world champion recorded the fastest time in the qualifying session this Saturday (4) and will start in first place for the 38th time in his career. Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz and Sergio Pérez complete the front rows of the starting grid.

The Miami GP will be held at 5pm (Brasília) this Sunday (5). Grupo Bandeirantes broadcasts the stage live on TV, on Bandplay, band.com.br and on radio stations Bandeirantes and BandNews FM. Bandsports shows the replay of the race at 10pm.

Q1

Max Verstappen clocked 1m27s689 to secure first place in the first qualifying session. The highlight was the elimination of Ricciardo, who was third in the classification for the sprint race, but was 18th for Sunday’s race. Furthermore, the Australian had been punished in three positions due to a hairpin in the Chinese GP and, therefore, will be in last place in the Miami GP.

  • Bottas (Sauber)
  • Sergeant (Williams)
  • Ricciardo (Racing Bulls)
  • Magnussen (Haas)
  • Zhou (Sauber)

Q2

With Charles Leclerc leading the session, Q2 of the Miami GP held emotions until the last lap. Lewis Hamilton, who was being eliminated, managed to move up to third place after a great lap. The Alpine and Aston Martin drivers, however, were not as lucky and did not progress to Q3. Williams’ Alexander Albon was also left out.

  • Stroll (Aston Martin)
  • Gasly (Alpine)
  • Ocon (Alpine)
  • Albon (Williams)
  • Alonso (Aston Martin)

Q3

  • Max Verstappen achieved the best time of all classification in the first lap of Q3, clocking 1m27s241. The Dutchman was unable to improve his time, but he was also not threatened by his opponents and took the 38th pole in his career.
