And the dream of the Brazil to win an unprecedented place in 3×3 basketball at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: this Saturday, the team defeated Japan 13 to 12 and guaranteed presence in the semi-final of the Universality Pre-Olympic 2 2024 of the sport, which is being held in the Japanese city of Utsunomiya.

The highlight of the match was center Clarissa Santos, who scored the decisive basket three seconds from the end of the match, shortly after the hosts wasted a chance to secure the result with Takada missing an attempt for two points when the score was at 12 to 12.

Brazil’s top scorer in the match was Vitória Marcelino, with seven points.

With the results of the last round, Germany ends up as leader of group A, with three victories, while Brazil is in second with two victories, one defeat and 50 points scored, against 46 for Japan.

In the semifinals, the Brazilian team faces Australia, which finished as group B leader by just two points compared to Canada. The duel qualifying for the final will take place at 5:45 am Brasília time, on Sunday.

Only the champion in each suit will get a place in Paris 2024.
