Carlos Miguel opens up about proposals and anticipates decision on leaving Corinthians

Starting in Corinthians’ first victory in the Brazilian Championship, and also in the Copa do Brasil triumph, Carlos Miguel seems to have finally conquered the position with António Oliveira. After all, the goalkeeper is already guaranteed in the black and white goal against Fortaleza, in the duel that opens the fifth round of the national competition, this weekend.

In conversation with the press shortly after the 2-1 win over América-RN, at Arena das Dunas, Timão’s number 22 spoke about the refusal of some proposals to leave the club – and that, also, Cássio’s stay at Corinthians was one of the preponderant factors in his decision.

“About leaving, having offers to leave, it has a lot to do with the heart, because I chose to be here. I could have gone to other clubs when I arrived at the beginning. I didn’t come because of the money, I came because I knew what it was like here, the work I would have here. I knew the guy I would have with me, which is Cássio. And I managed to develop my football much more. I’m happy to be here today and do everything I dreamed of – said the player”, said the goalkeeper.

With Carlos Miguel among António Oliveira’s starters, Corinthians is preparing to face Fortaleza this Saturday night (04), at 9pm (Brasília time), at the Neo Química Arena. The match, valid for the fifth round of the Brazilian Championship, could mark a sequence hitherto unprecedented this season: three consecutive victories for Timão.
