The Aston Martin team expected a slightly better performance in the Sprint classification of the Formula 1 Miami GP, but Lance Stroll still secured P7 and Fernando Alonso P8.

Stroll: “It was a good Sprint qualifying, for sure. We chose to run on the soft tires used in Q3 and managed to qualify in P7, which leaves us well for tomorrow. Our goal will be to try to score some points in the Sprint event”, he concluded.

Alonso: “There wasn’t much grip on the track today, so conditions were quite complicated for Sprint qualifying. But it was the same for everyone and we managed to get both cars into Q3, which was the objective for today. We haven’t raced much on the track so it’s a bit unknown going into the Sprint race tomorrow. We’ll see what we can do and we’ll try to have fun”, concluded the Spaniard.
