Alpine junior driver Abbi Pulling stood out in the second free practice at the F1 Academy in Miami, surpassing competitor Doriane Pin, from Iron Dame and Mercedes junior driver. Pulling recorded the best time with 1:59.237, while Pin struggled with oversteering and car adjustments.

The training session, which followed the only Formula 1 practice session, lasted 40 minutes and was the first experience for many drivers at the Miami International Autodrome. Pulling started strong, leading the session from her opening laps, while Pin, who had been fastest in the first session, struggled to find the ideal balance in her car.

Bianca Bustamante, McLaren’s development driver, also had standout moments, finishing third in the first half of training, demonstrating the competitiveness of the group that is just behind the leaders.

Wildcard entry Courtney Crone struggled during the session, continuing his adaptation to the open-wheel racer, which marks his return to this style of racing after four years.

As the session progressed, Nerea Martí managed to advance to third place, overtaking Bustamante and showing a significant improvement compared to the morning training. Meanwhile, the Al Qubaisi sisters found it difficult to enter the top 10, a challenge given the high level of competition on the grid.

The end of the session was marked by consecutive fast laps between the leaders, with Pulling and Pin alternating in the top positions, while Martí consolidated his presence among the fastest with an impressive lap of 1:59.634. Haas nominee Chloe Chambers also stood out, achieving third place and showing that she can compete at the top in her home country.

With the session concluded, the top 10 was very compact, with just a second separating many of the competitors, promising a close and exciting qualification. Pulling, despite not feeling well earlier in the day, managed to maintain his lead, preparing for the weekend’s races where he hopes to extend his lead at the top of the championship.
