Anapoima (Colombia) – Carolina Meligeni Alves’ week at the ITF W35 in Anapoima, on clay courts in Colombia, continues with positive results. The number 3 in Brazil and 348th in the world scored her third consecutive victory in straight sets, beating Colombian Yuliana Monroy, ranked 757th, this Friday by 6/2 and 6/0 in 1h07 of the match.

“I was very forceful and aggressive the entire time and that made a big difference. I managed to cancel out the balls that bothered me, I did everything very well and it was my best game here”, said Carol Meligeni, who will play in her second consecutive semi-final in Colombia. She has already won one tournament this season, in São João da Boa Vista.

Carol Meligeni’s opponent this Saturday will be the 29-year-old Italian Miriana Tona, ranked 325th, who recently defeated the native of Campinas in São Paulo. “It was a tough game against her. I remember that we both did a double round that day and she ended up winning easily, it bothered me a lot and didn’t let me find a way out. But tomorrow is another game and another moment.”
