Dream Tour 2023 Champion Cup

In a chat with Let’s Surf Podcast, Marco Giorgi details a battle that “foreign” athletes are fighting with the Brazilian Surfing Confederation (CBSurf) to compete in national competitions approved by the entity, such as the Dream Tour.

According to Marco, a small group of surfers have been trying for two years to participate in national competitions, but were vetoed by CBSurf. Marco is Uruguayan, but has lived in Brazil for 25 years, having built his entire career in the country.

This would also be the case of Santiago Muniz, brother of Alejo Muniz, Argentine but also based in Brazil, and even Jessé Mendes, who, despite being Brazilian, is prevented from competing – as he started to defend Italy in 2022.
