Vasco makes contact with coach Pezzolano, ex-Cruzeiro; see details < In Attack

Radio Tupi – Vasco da Gama’s new football executive, Pedro Martins, started working this Monday (29/4) and has already made an offer to Uruguayan coach Paulo Pezzolano. Both worked together on cruise in 2022 and early 2023.

Today, Pezzolano heads Valladolid, in Spain’s Second Division, with a contract until June this year. After the defeat suffered by Vasco against Criciúma (4-0), in Rio de Janeiro, coach Ramón Díaz resigned and said goodbye to the players. There was a possibility of an agreement to stay, but the Argentine was warned that he is definitely out of the club’s plans.

In the first contacts made by Vasco SAF, the technician Paulo Pezzolano liked the financial offer and working conditions. Another aspect considered positive was the investment in reinforcements in the next window.

Pezzolano promised to evaluate the proposal and talk to the family about the possibility of returning to live in Brazil in the future, this time in Rio de Janeiro. The information is from Tupi Radio.

The Uruguayan is enjoying a good moment in charge of Valladolid, Ronaldo’s team. The team occupies second place in Spain’s Second Division, with 64 points, the same score as leader Leganés, who have an advantage on goal difference: 26 x 14.

Vasco currently has three points and occupies 17th place in Series A of the Brazilian Championship, in the relegation zone after four rounds.

Until the new coach arrives, the Vasco will be led by the interim, Rafael Paiva, who was undefeated in the Rio U20 Cup when he beat Flamengo, 4-1, last Sunday (28/4), in São Januário.

Paiva has already led the first training session of the week focused on the game this Wednesday (01/4), at 7pm, against Fortaleza, at Castelão, in the first leg of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil.
