Striker Gabigol returned to Flamengo this Tuesday (30) after receiving the suspensive effect of the punishment imposed by the Anti-Doping Court of Justice. To applause, the player was welcomed to the CT by several club employees. The situation was criticized by journalist Ivan Moré, formerly of Globo.

Gabigol, in April 2023, did not cooperate with a surprise anti-doping test, to be carried out during training. In this case, there was a violation of article 122 of the Brazilian Anti-Doping Code, referred to as “fraud or attempted fraud of any part of the control process”.

Initially, Gabriel had received a two-year ban without being able to play. As the situation occurred in 2023, the sanction was valid until April 2025. However, the athlete’s defense filed an appeal, and achieved the suspensive effect via a unanimous decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
