Sabalenka and Alcaraz are the main attractions on Wednesday

Madrid (Spain) – Current champions in Madrid, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka will be the main attractions of the tournament next Wednesday, which will feature the last two quarterfinal matches of the women’s group and the first two of the men’s group.

There will only be four singles matches on the day, all at Manolo Santana, starting with the 100% Kazakh duel between Elena Rybakina and Yulia Putintseva at 7am (Brasília time). Not before 11am, it will be Russian Andrey Rublev’s turn to challenge Alcaraz’s 14-game winning streak in the tournament.

Opening the night round, no earlier than 3pm, Sabalenka will face young Russian Mirra Andreeva, who turned 17 last Monday and is trying to go even further than she managed in Madrid last year, when she reached the round of 16 .

The duel between North American Taylor Fritz and Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo will close the day on the main stage of Caixa Mágica. In addition to these games on the central court, 10 more doubles matches will be played on the secondary courts, highlighting the partnership between Coco Gauff and Taylor Townsend.
