Uesb is featured in the Bahia 2024 University Games

Between the 20th and 21st of April, the Bahia University Games took place in Jequié, an event promoted by the Bahia University Sports Federation (Fube). Uesb students were present competing in various categories of the tournament and the Physical Education Academic Athletic Association (Atlética Implacável) was crowned overall champion of the competition, which was made up of several university athletics from the state.

The University stood out in many modalities of the event, winning 1st place in women’s futsal, women’s chess, men’s futvolley, beach tennis, in tug of war and general swimming; 2nd place in men’s futsal and men’s beach volleyball; and 3rd place in men’s basketball.

“We placed well in the sports we competed in. Each placement has a score and, in the end, everything adds up”, explains Débora Jesus, Marketing Director at Atlética Implacável and graduate of the Physical Education degree course at Uesb.

Débora also points out that participation in the event brings more visibility to the Institution’s sports scene. “Uesb will be represented nationally. This is a source of pride for us public university students, in addition to the opportunity to interact with other Higher Education and cultural institutions, making concrete one of the university’s tripods, which is extension”, concludes the director.

With the placement, the Uesb student entity was classified to represent the University in the Brazilian University Games (JUBs) that will take place in Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte, from May 29th to June 2nd.

Mane – The Bahia University Games is considered the state stage of the Brazilian University Games, better known as JUBs – Final Phase. The event aims to increase participation in sporting activities in all public and private Higher Education Institutions in the state and promote the broad mobilization of Bahian university youth around sport.
