Referee Association asks the STJD to ban Jailson Macedo Freitas; understand

The National Association of Football Referees (ANAF) published a note this Monday (29) announcing that it will file a lawsuit with the STJD against Jailson Macedo Freitasformer referee and current president of the FBF Arbitration Commission.

In its announcement, ANAF publishes that it will ask the STJD to ban Jailson Macedo from football “for interference and attempted manipulation of results”.

The association justifies that the act of a representative of a local federation interfering in a match calls Brazilian arbitration into question.

In a statement, the referees association also states that the former Bahian referee’s attitude was “dishonest” and that he was not authorized to be on the edge of the field.

The case happened at the end of the match between Bahia and Grêmio, last Saturday (27), at Fonte Nova, when Diego Costa was sent off for an alleged insult to the referee off the field.

Coach Renato Gaúcho caused a lot of confusion by stating that Jailson Macedo Freitas would have passed the information to the fourth refereewhich would constitute an irregularity.

“ANAF takes action at the STJD so that Jailson Freitas is banned from football for external interference and attempted manipulation of results. What happened last Saturday, the 27th, at Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador, was an EXTREMELY SERIOUS event that once again puts Brazilian arbitration in check.

Without authorization to be on the field of play in the match valid for Series A of the Brasileirão, between Bahia x Grêmio, the director of referees of the Bahia Football Federation, Jailson Macedo Freitas, who holds the position of advisor/analyst/delegate of the CBF, reported dishonestly, to the fourth referee, Fernando Antonio Mendes de Salles Nascimento Filho, from the state of Pará, that the Grêmio athlete Diego Costa should be expelled. This, in addition to violating the rules of the game, serves as a basis for Grêmio to file a request to cancel the match, further exposing our category.

After the action, caught on camera, the athlete was expelled, generating a revolt from coach Renato Gaúcho, who asked his entire technical committee and the club’s reserve athletes to leave the bench and go to the locker room.

Jailson Freitas’ external interference encourages us to believe that the president of Botafogo’s SAF, John Textor, may be right in the statements he made about result manipulation in the Brazilian championship, something that buries once and for all the bankrupt management of Ednaldo Rodrigues, and the unprepared one, Wilson Seneme, at CBF, under the threat of a public apology to the American if the allegations are confirmed.

Therefore, ANAF will today file a lawsuit with the Superior Court of Sports Justice – STJD, asking for the immediate ban of Jailson Freitas, from football, in view not only of the very serious fact at hand, but also to safeguard Brazilian arbitration which needs give again and have good examples.”
