The only representative from Brazil in the Kentucky Grand Prix, in Lexington, in the United States, Rodrigo Pessoa did not perform well. The 51-year-old Athens 2004 Olympic champion rode Dhalida, but knocked over three obstacles along the way and finished with 12 points lost. As a result, he was only in 24th place.

Of the 35 participating groups, only six managed to complete the route and qualify for the jump-off. In the jump-off, Cathleen Driscoll, from the United States, knocked down three obstacles and was left out of the title race. Fellow American Alex Matz and Venezuelan Luis Fernando Larrazabal each committed a foul, totaling four lost points.

The three remaining riders restarted the route and then the decision was based on time. Irishman Conor Swail, riding Casturano, was the fastest with a time of 40.960 and won the Kentucky Grand Prix title.

The Irishman was just over half a second ahead of Nayel Nassar, from Egypt, who finished runner-up. American Charlotte Jacobs completed the podium.
