Reinier doesn’t live in the moment

Attacking midfielder Reinier was part of a very successful cycle for the Flamengo which began in 2019. Seen as one of the club’s biggest revelations in recent years, he has not pleased Spanish portals.

The midfielder is close to ending his third loan with Real Madrid, but, according to the Spanish press, the player was unable to perform enough to return to the European country with good morale.

He is on loan to Frosinone, in Italy, until the end of June, and the tendency is not to have his loan renewed, nor to find a bigger club to continue his career in European football.

Reinier began by being loaned to Borussia Dortmund, one of the biggest teams in Germany, but then, according to the newspaper AS, in its publication this Thursday (25), the player is going from ‘bad to worse’, as he is unable to stand out in a modest team.

Spanish press reviews

The youngster from Ninho do Urubu started the season well, standing out in the Italian Championship matches and scoring important goals, but after an injury and a period on the sidelines, he did not return well, losing space in the team.

Like other young players on loan from Real Madrid, he is part of a list that is monitored by the Spanish press, always analyzing who can return to the club and be used by coach Carlo Ancelotti

According to the publication, unlike names like Juanmi Latasa (on loan to Getafe), Peter Federico (to Valencia) and Marvin Park (to Las Palmas), Reinier did not do well and is well below those previously mentioned.

“The Brazilian is one of the players who least stands out in his third loan, this time to the Italian club Frosinone. Latasa, Peter and Marvin are living up to expectations”, says a publication in the newspaper As, which evaluated the performance of the players on loan from the Madrid team.

Return to Flamengo?

Reinier, ex-Flamengo, was signed by Real Madrid in January 2020, for 30 million euros (R$ 136 million at the time). The player scored two goals and distributed two assists this season.

In an interview with the Spanish website Relevo, the young man admitted to being uncomfortable with the few opportunities and not ruled out a possible return to Brazilian football soon in his career, especially to the team that revealed him.

“I don’t like to think with a hot head, but if I say I never thought (about returning to Brazilian football) it would be a lie. Of course I thought. Being in my country for six months or a year, close to my family. I want to play, I don’t know if in Brazil or elsewhere, but I want to play (…) Imagine going back to Flamengo. Sometimes I watch the games on TV, the Maracanã is full, the fans are singing, it’s hard not to think about going back, he said.

According to the Bolavip Brasil report, there is a mutual interest in a return. In the next window, in July, the Flamengo will send proposal conditions to Real Madrid to sign Reinier: a loan with an option to buy.
