The nurse appealed for as much help as possible for anyone who can donate and volunteer.

It’s very sad. We need help, anyway. Any little that comes is a lot for us. My 14-year-old son went to help us at Ulbra, also with just the clothes on his back. I went by and got him some shorts. It’s not just me, it’s everyone. We lost everything. Vânia Gonçalves, nurse and resident of Canoas (RS)

There was no time to save anything, not even documents. Because it was very fast and there was no time. He had some people who weren’t there, they were in another region and, when he came back, there was no more time. Vânia Gonçalves, nurse and resident of Canoas (RS)

With her husband sick since yesterday, Vânia said that he lost colleagues who were victims of the tragedy.

My husband lost 12 teammates from his football team, he knows a lot of people here in Canoas. I’m alone on the way there and back, because he ended up having a fever of 40 degrees. I don’t know if it’s because of emotions or if it was because he had contact with water. When the water recedes, the situation will get worse. Vânia Gonçalves, nurse and resident of Canoas (RS)

O UOL News airs from Monday to Friday in two editions: at 10am with a presentation by Fabíola Cidral and at 5pm with Diego Sarza. The program is always live.
