Red Bull Racing wasted no time in provoking its Mercedes rivals after the Chinese Formula 1 GP. In a post on social media, the Austrian team mocked Lewis Hamilton’s curiosity regarding Max Verstappen’s RB20.

In the image, Hamilton appears looking at the Red Bull car after the Sprint race, where the seven-time champion finished in second place, behind Verstappen and ahead of Sergio Perez. The publication’s caption is simple, but provocative: ‘RB20 gaining admirers’.

The post quickly went viral on social media, with many Formula 1 fans having fun with Red Bull’s provocation. Some interpreted the post as a sign of the team’s confidence in their car, while others saw it as an attempt to destabilize Hamilton mentally.

Regardless of the interpretation, the provocation certainly further intensifies the rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes, which has been going on for several years. It remains to be seen whether Hamilton and Mercedes will be able to react throughout the 2024 season, which at the moment seems quite unlikely.
