Palmeiras reaches historic milestones with turnaround in Libertadores

The epic turn of Palm trees over Independiente del Valle, at the altitude of Quito, for the Libertadores, guaranteed the breaking of three historical marks.

With a goal scored by Luís Guilherme, in stoppage time of the match, Verdão reached Olímpia, from Paraguay, in fifth place among the clubs with the most victories in the history of the continental competition. In total, there are 134 triumphs in 237 games played.

The team led by Abel Ferreira also became the fourth club with the most away victories in the tournament, totaling 53 in 118 clashes.

Furthermore, Palmeiras is the only club that managed to beat Independiente del Valle away from home in the Libertadores. In 32 home matches, the Ecuadorians have accumulated 19 wins, 11 draws and just two defeats, both against Verdão.
