The first players called up by coach José Roberto Guimarães to compete in the Nations League for the Brazilian Women’s Volleyball Team performed this Wednesday (24/4) at the CBV (Brazilian Volleyball Confederation) training center in Saquarema, Rio of January.

CBV’s official Instagram profile recorded the arrival of setter Macris, opposite Lorenne, wingers Gabi Guimarães, Julia Bergmann and Rosamaria and central Diana. In addition to them, pointer Helena and center Luzia Nezzo also performed – young promises of Brazilian volleyball, they were not called up, but were invited to participate in preparatory training.

Zé Roberto registered 30 athletes to compete in the League of Nations. However, the coach should not call everyone up for the competition. Last year, for example, he called up 16 players.

The first six called up are those who finished their seasons first for the teams they represent. In the next wave, the expectation is that Zé Roberto will call athletes who play for Minas and Praia Clube. They competed in the Women’s Superliga final this Sunday (21/4), at Geraldão, in Recife, won by the Minas Gerais tennis team.

In total, 10 registered players play on the two Minas Gerais teams: Kisy, Júlia Kudiess, Pri Daroit, Carol Gattaz, Thaísa and Nyeme (Minas), Claudinha, Tainara, Adenízia and Natinha (Praia Clube).

Brazilian women’s volleyball team in the Nations League

The women’s Nations League will be played between May 14 and June 23, in five host countries (Turkey, Brazil, China, USA and Japan). The Brazilian team, which already has a guaranteed place in the Olympics, will play in Macau, Hong Kong and Rio de Janeiro.
