Charleston (USA) – With the addition of the first round of the WTA 500 in Charleston, Beatriz Haddad Maia’s debut opponent in the tournament on har-tru (green clay) courts has been defined. Bia, who received an invitation and will be head 5 of the eventfaces Caroline Dolehide, ranked 47th, who won a North American duel against left-handed Kayla Day, ranked 84th, by 6/3, 0/6 and 6/4.

Born in the state of South Carolina, where the tournament is held, Rogers underwent two knee surgeries and received an invitation from the organizers. The Brazilian lost her only previous duel to Kudermetova, played in Tokyo in 2022, and has already played doubles with the Russian, winning the Elite Trohy last year.
