Winner of the Masters 1,000 in Miami this Sunday (3/31), Italian Jannik Sinner reached second place in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ranking, published this Monday (4/1). Thus, he surpassed the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, now third place, on the podium again led by the Serbian Novak Djokovic.

Sinner, 22 years old and sensation of the season, achieves the best ranking of his career.

The Italian, who has already won three titles this year, including the Australian Open and the Miami Masters 1,000, by defeating Grigor Dimitrov with authority in the final (6-3 and 6-1), overtook Alcaraz, who leaves the top two placements for the first time since August 2022.

The ranking continues to be dominated by Djokovic, 36, who did not play in Miami and decided to fire his coach, Goran Ivanisevic.

Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild rose 10 positions and is now 66th in the ATP rankings.
