Gabigol is included on the definitive suspension list by the Brazilian Doping Control Authority

247 – Striker Gabigol, Flamengo star, was added to the list of athletes permanently suspended by the Brazilian Doping Control Authority (ABCD), reports columnist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper O Globo. The decision was taken following the ruling of the Anti-Doping Court of Justice, referring to the incident that occurred in April 2023 during a surprise anti-doping test carried out at CT Ninho do Urubu.

The athlete was suspended for two years, from the date of the incident, April 8, 2023, until April 7, 2025. The suspension was motivated by the alleged attempt at fraud during the urine collection procedure, as reported in the investigations. Gabigol’s inclusion on the definitive suspension list was announced in accordance with article 342 of the Brazilian Anti-Doping Code.

Despite the decision, both the player and Flamengo are actively contesting it. They requested an immediate suspension effect and filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, seeking to reverse the imposed penalty.
